Juliana Brewer: Opting Outside

In Adventure, Hiking, Travel by This Adventure LifeLeave a Comment

Juliana is originally from Brazil and has been in the United States for almost 19 years. She is married to a wonderful man, and together they have three amazing kids, who are her world.

Her passion is to go on adventures. She loves to travel and, when traveling is not an option, she explores her local surroundings. Hiking, biking, rollerblading, boating, swimming, snowshoeing, snowmobiling … she enjoys them all and hopes her kids will grow up loving the outdoors as much as she does. She believes God has blessed her in many ways in life, and is very grateful for every opportunity.

Where are you currently located, and where are some of your favorite local places for adventure?

I live in Salt Lake City, UT. I love the mountains and that’s where I spend most of my adventures. From lakes, to peaks and waterfalls, there’s so much to explore around here!

What were some of you most memorable adventures of 2017?

Definitely Iceland and Havasupai! Two different places, different landscapes, but both magical in so many ways!

What is your advice for people traveling with their family?

Make it fun! Children will remember you enjoying them more than loving them. Limit screen time and show them the world. From a quick hike nearby to an overseas trip, they will learn more than you can imagine.

What do you want your kids to learn from their travels and adventures?

First, the time spent together is priceless! Also, the experiences of going to a new place, learning from a new culture, meeting new people. Or, exploring a new trail, challenging them to push themselves and to believe they are capable of accomplishing something hard. And, watching them being proud of it!

How do you think adventure and exploring our world can positively impact one’s life?

Your mind will open up to so may possibilities! You’ll learn more about your surroundings and, specially, more about yourself.

What are some of your adventure goals for 2018?

I have a goal to go out of the country at least once a year. I’ll do my best to accomplish that. In 2018 I hope to visit a tropical country. I also plan to hike more peaks, including a sunrise hike to Mt. Timpanogos. I addition, I plan to explore new trails I haven’t been to yet.

What are some of the most memorable stories from your travels and adventures?

Besides exploring and learning from the places I visit, I enjoy meeting the people. Whether is a local or a tourist from across the globe, we all have something in common and it’s fascinating to hear their stories.

We at This Adventure Life want our readers to live life fearlessly in the pursuit of living their ideal life. What would your advice be for someone who wants to live fearlessly and pursue their wildest dreams?

It takes work to make your dream come true. You need to take that first step and make it happen. Never give up, be positive, be happy for others, do the required work to achieve it. At the end, it will be all worth it!
